E-Waste Recycling Can Be Done At Home - Help Your Neighbors Learn About Landfill Waste

Posted Dec 30 2009 9:20am

Electronic waste is currently the fastest growing category of municipal landfill waste. GreenerChoices.org says, "Nearly 3 million tons of consumer electronic waste was generated in 2003 alone, according to the most recent U.S. EPA estimates."

Guess what? YOU can do something about this and it is simple and easy. Hold your own E-waste Recycling Extravaganza! This can be held in your driveway.

First, schedule a pick-up with a local E-waste recycling company. This time I used Vintage Tech Recyclers, which is an asset recovery and recycling company. Often, if you have large quantities of E-waste, you can get a pick-up scheduled for free.

Next, contact all your friends and neighbors, give them a date you are recycling E-waste, and have everyone deliver E-waste such as their old computer equipment, coffee pots, and electronic games to your driveway. That is all there is to it - you are done. Now the company comes and takes away the products for recycling. Easy!

In the video and photos you can see my recycling extravaganza pick-up and details on how easy it is to accomplish! It is good for the earth! Make a difference today and recycle your electronic waste products.
