Chicago's Lurie Garden Has Great Winter Family Workshops

The
Lurie Garden in Chicago's Millennium Park is a an amazing Chicago destination and offers free classes year round. Below are two fantastic workshops coming up you can attend with your kids. Mark your calendars!
Year round interest is built into the plantings at the garden, it is truly an
urban model of responsible horticulture. The Lurie Garden provides a healthy
habitat for a wide variety of plants and wildlife. It was created by the founders of Millennium Park and is
sustained by a generous endowment from Ann Lurie.
Location: First floor Garland
Room, Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington St.
Program: It may be snowing and
blowing outside, but this class will show families how to explore the soothing,
delectable side of the garden. Guests will make their own lip balm, bubble bath
and more. Note: Children must be at least 6 years old and accompanied by an

Natural Inspirations
Saturday, Feb. 12, 2 p.m. to 4
p.m.
Location: First floor Garland
Room, Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington St.
Gather the family and create a
piece of art with natural materials, including leaves, stones and twigs,
inspired by artist Andy Goldsworthy. Children must be at least 6 years old and
accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required. Call 312-742-TIXS (8497).
