150 Companies Sign Climate Change Petition in Advance of Bali

Posted Aug 26 2008 11:26pm
150 global businesses have signed on to the Bali Communique, a petition addressed to participants in the upcoming climate change summit in Bali. The companies are lending their weight to the argument that inaction is a poor business strategy, likely to bring about massive future costs, both economic and geopolitical.

"Each year we delay action to control global emissions increases the risk of unavoidable consequences that will likely necessitate even steeper reductions in the future, causing potentially greater economic, environmental and social disruption," the communique declares.

Signatories include Carbonfund.org partner Volkswagen, as well as Coca Cola, Virgin, Rolls Royce, Nokia, and Kodak, among dozens of other notable names. For the full list and more information, visit the Bali Communique website here.
