I'm a 22 year old fitness and health food enthusiast. I don't have any formal education in these areas but spend a ton of time reading and learning about about how and why different foods help my body and fuel me for an active lifestyle. I love cooking and creating new, healthy meals.
I feel like I was active growing up as a kid playing sports, but now that I'm an adult I can really take pleasure in how exercising makes me feel. It gives me energy and is a great way to relieve stress. Even though I don't always feel that way after a rainy hill filled run, I know that once I re-fuel I'll be 100% again.
The reason I'm here is to show that eating healthy doesn't have to be boring and that exercise can be fun once you find something that you love to do, like running for me. My mom and I recently signed up for our first 1/2 marathon and it has really made me stay on track with my running program. Also, I just got a group of friend together that are going to take part in the 100 push up challenge with me.
I believe that making these commitments helps challenge and motivate one to do things they never dreamed they could do. I know I never thought I'd be able to complete a 1/2 marathon, but now I know that once those 13.1 miles in January are here I'll be able to take them on.
