I am experiencing huge changes in my body temp. during the day as well as night. I will suddenly become very hot to the point of actually sweating. Once I seem to cool down, I get cold. I will put on a light jacket or robe and then I begin to sweat. I do not know which health care professional I need to consult to discover what can be causing this.
Take this answer/recommendation with a grain of salt since I'm a family physician, but I think it's always a good idea to start off with your family physician or other primary care physician who knows you and is trained to take care of the vast majority of health issues. You didn't mention your age, but you might very well be describing the onset of menopause and its concomitant vasomotor instability, described as hot flashes (power surges!) and night sweats. Or you might be describing hypo/hyperthyroidism. Or even some infection. That's why rather than sending you to a gynecologist, endocrinologist, and infectious disease specialist, I'd suggest going to see your family physician first. Good luck!
