When you have 12 staples put in your scalp when if at all should I expect headache or pain?

do you mind me asking if you were given pain relief before you recieved your staples. my son was given six staples in his head last week without any pain relief, he was in agony with each one and has been having nightmares since. i thought it was normal untill a friend told me he should have been given something.

Yes I did have a shot to for pain relief. They had said that the shot would sting and hurt but only once and the stables shouldn't hurt too much. Asked if I wanted to try it without first and then they could give it to me. My 24 yr old son advised me to take it cause it would be just one hurt. It stung and hurt  a lot for about 3 seconds but I'm so happy I had it.The removal of the stitches I didn't have anything and it didn't even pinch. They came out very easily and painfree. I'm sorry to hear your son is having nightmares please tell him it does not hurt to remove them.
