The best time is between late September and early November, ready for the winter. Don't wait until there's a flu epidemic.
Except that there is more and more evidence that the flu vaccine doesn't actually prevent the flu in any meaningful way and the "flu epidemic" is just thrown about by those who are trying to scare people into getting a flu shot.
There is some evidence that the flu is not even communicable- and there is NO evidence to show that it IS a communicable disease.
Studies performed during the last flu epidemic had (brave)volunteers coughed on, sneezed on and even had the nasal secretions of flu victims placed in their nose and throat in order to induce the flu. The fact that NONE of these volunteers got the flu is cause for questioning the mode of transmission of the flu.
A new theory is emerging that the flu actually lies dormant in your body and causes infection when your Vitamin D levels get low. Several other viruses- think genital herpes, chicken pox-shingles, the virus that causes cold sores and the virus that causes warts- also lie dormant until you are under stress.
Do the research before you get the flu vaccine.
A strong immune system is the BEST way to prevent the flu!!
