One time , when I was a baby I was crying without and refusing to stop under any imaginable solace administered to me. My parents called our family doctor. He came, examined me - bawling like turkey, than ordered my parents to prepare a bath with ice cold water. He lifted me up and dank me suddenly in. I ceased to cry instantly.
my mother did something similar to a neighbors child who was crying so hard the child couldn't catch it's breath - she put the child's face in cold running water and the shild stopped immediately.
