When you have burning sensation when you urinate, it is a symptom of inflammation, infection or other condition.
The symptoms are of Urinary Tract infection (UTI), Cystitis, Prostatitis, Enlarged prostate (BPH) or STD .
An penis infection occurs when microorganisms, usually bacteria from the digestive tract, cling to the urethra walls and begin to multiply.
Most penis
urinary infections arise from one type of bacteria, Escherichia coli (E. coli), which normally lives in the colon.
In most cases, bacteria first begin growing in the urinary tract. An infection limited to the urinary tract is called urethritis. From there bacteria often move on to the bladder, causing a bladder infection (cystitis).
If the penis urethra tract infection is not treated promptly, bacteria may then go up the ureters to infect the kidneys (pyelonephritis).
UTI's
The diagnosis of UTI is confirmed by a
urine test sample (no doctors office visit).
If the urine culture is negative:
* symptoms of urethritis may point at Chlamydia trachomatis or Neisseria gonorrheae infection.
* symptoms of cystitis may point at interstitial cystitis.
* prostatitis may be present with dysuria.
You should see your doctor for a exam and
lab testing for a correct diagnosis and treatment.
