what is the different between red blood cells and white blood cells

my doctor told me that i had lots of red blood cells what does that mean

red blood cells especially function to bring oxygen and energy.while white blood cell mainly fights against stranger from outside of your body, like virus, bacteria, parasites, etc. when you have lots of red blood cells, it can be normal or not.generally adults have around5million red blood cells/mm3. it can be more in people living in mountainous area which is normal adjustment of body. it can  also be more in people with some chronic disease or blood disease
