What is the best treatment for E-Coli found from urine culture.

I was having Blood Sugar.The Doctor advised me to go for an urine culture.My sugar level is F=67,PP=137.Urine Culture report shows E-Coli Infection.Is that related to kidney problem?If so what should I do?
