13 year old girl presenting with fever, cough, congested for about 4 days. Went to ER yesterday and was sent home. Today had violent chest and left arm pain and was told she had a viral infection which became a bacterial infection which is attacking her heart and is now on heavy antibiotics. Dr. said damage to her heart could still happen in the next 48 hours. What kind of damage and how serious? And how did this happen?
