What does a result of NVG mean on a blood glucose test?

Posted by Bryants7

My husband had a blood test done for a life insurance policy and everything was normal except the blood glucose which had a result of NVG.  What does that mean?

I just had the same result.  It is nothing to worry about.  The NVG means "no value given."  It happens frequently in insurance physicals, because the sample is not tested immediately, and the blood level changes with time and temperature.  In the summer, an average of 25% of samples are listed as NVG.  You can read about it on page 7 of the following article  https://www.heritagelabs.net/NewsletterPDF/Envoy_Vol1_Issue_3.pdf
