weightloss caused by mcardles?

My mom was diagnosed through a muscle biopsy with mcardles disease about 30 years ago and is currently experiencing somewhat rapid weightloss for which the Dr's can't seem to find a cause and they think it could be related to mcardles. Is that possible? I would appreciate any help you can give on this. Thanks
