unexplained numbness around the centre of body???

my mum suffered a stroke just over 2 years ago, since then she has had a tightening numbing pain around the middle of her body. when it goes she is very tired - has anyone experienced the same thing ? or does anyone know what could be causing this ? i appreciate anyones help or advice thankyou xx
