Firstly thank you Tracey!!! You know why :) Yes I was 37 yesterday. Another year older, another year of life experiences. Friday when I last wrote just got weird. I spoke to a friend about the bath incident, who said it didn't sound o.k. I spoke then to my pharmacist who happened to call about a script and asked if the leg and arm heaviness/numbness was a side effect of the Antibiotics, I received a "no call your G.P". One thing led to another, after hours G.P visit where they also discovered my temp was still over 38c in spite of A.Bs. A T.I.A(mini stroke) was queried and a trip to Emergency for assessment and Intravenous A.Bs. Was assessed by Medics and Urology.
Admitted to the usual ward, after I wanted to leave after the registrar said I was to be admitted under Dr Mengele. That was changed. Anyway, I have been assessed by the medical team again I was told by Urology I wouldn't be. They did their exam and said it would be a good idea to get my Carotid arteries assessed by Ultra Sound.
I have some risk factors also. Smoking, family history of stroke and hypertension issues in multiple family members and I just found out from my sister overseas who called for my birthday, that my uncle had a TIA a couple of weeks ago. I didn't know this as I am not in contact and he lives out of town, so the numbers just went up a notch. Interestingly I have also been told my Grandmother also suffered from hypo tension as I tend to before she went Hypertensive, had T.I.As, then a massive Stroke. I used to have some wicked migraines in the past, but the last one was probably 2 years ago. I'm positive I am too young for this shite, so I am not stressed about it. Just another weird thing. When they did ask if I had had this before, I said no but I had forgotten about the incident about 6 months or so ago where my left arm did some weird stuff while I was tachycardic and had infection.
I'm on leave from hospital having to go in daily for I.V antibiotics, my veins are shot to hell and where the line is, is bloody irritating. I hope the catheter can come out soon, as that is irritating also, as it continually blocks. . This morning I woke after a ten and half hours worth of sleep, I must have needed it.
Otherwise I had a lovely relaxed afternoon with a couple of friends, watched movies and chilled out. Sphere: Related Content
