Thanks to Donors, Levindale Blood Drive is a Success!

Everyone who turned out to give blood at the recent Red Cross drive at Levindale deserves a big pat on the back, a heartfelt thank you and lots of kudos.
LifeBridge Health employees selflessly joined with community members to roll up their sleeves and donate an incredible 35 pints of blood! This means that as many as 105 lives can be affected by the lifesaving gift because each pint can be used to help as many as three people.
In addition to the importance that every drive has, Hurricane Sandy has made it even more crucial to donate blood because more than 300 drives around the country had to be cancelled in the wake of the storm. This caused a shortfall of more than 11,000 donations.
Just a reminder from the Red Cross about how every pint of blood counts:
Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood.
More than 44,000 blood donations are needed every day.
