Tennis Elbow Cure

The tennis elbow is known as the lateral epiconcylitis and it affects the outside part of the elbow. The medical terminology for tennis elbow is lateral epicondylitis. The damage that people suffering from tennis elbow experience is tiny tears in a part of the tendon and in muscle coverings. The symptoms are pain and tenderness outside elbow. It usually affects the right arm because right arm is often used. The tendon damage may occur due to lifting something very heavy that causes a tear in the tendon. After the initial cure of the injury there are possibilities of tear again which leads to hemorrharage and formation of rough, granulated tissue and calcium deposits within the surrounding tissues. The symptom gradually increases and the pain may subside after a day or may trigger due to some activity.

Causes of tennis elbow

A protein called collagen which is present in the human body leaks out from the injured parts that results in inflammation. The tiny tears in a part of the tendon which is not supplied by the same amount of oxygen and blood that muscles usually receive. Hence, this results in slow healing. The only way to prevent tennis elbow is to avoid any kind of activity that aggravates the pain in the arm.

The steps to be taken into consideration to reduce the inflammation caused due to tennis elbow are change in lifestyle, Changing stroke mechanics and Racquet, Anti inflammatory Medications, Cortisone injections, Elbow Brace and Exercise, Surgery. A new treatment for tennis elbow is the extracorporeal treatment, Autulogous Blood injection. Lifestyle change is important if tennis elbow does not subside and recurs. Tennis racquets must be properly selected. A higher tension stringing of the tennis racquets may increase the pain. A person suffering from tennis elbow should avoid playing on harder surfaces because this might worsen the problem. The study shows that around 95 % of people with tennis elbow can be treated without surgery. Other treatments should be tried before taking a decision to undergo a surgery.
