Swelling in my left lower leg, ankle and foot. I went to the dr and they did a DVT scan and found nothing, told me to put my fee

I went to the dr and they did a DVT scan and found nothing, told me to put my feet up in the afternoons. But with two kids and a job, that's just about impossible. Any ideas of what type of questions to ask my dr the next time I go back?
