Back in May I wrote a post about a patient in their 40's who had a head bleed in sweet people=bad things. I wasn't sue if I would ever see them again then a couple of weeks ago a nurse int he ED came up to me and said ne of his patients wanted to see me. Evidently they had seen me walk by their room and recognized me. It was my patient from May. They are doing out patient rehab, and they still have residual dificit but their attitude was just as good, they are being well taken care of and up and walking on their own with a cane. They were very happy to see me and couldn't stop saying thank you for taking care of them. It made my week. More often than not we never get updates on our most intriguing patients and to get a sincere thank you is even rarer. I felt like we actually made a difference that night. I'm glad they are doing so well.
