This is inexcusable.  There is no reason not to change the pads underneath or sheets covering the area the patient lies on each time an MRI is done.   I will check next time I have an MRI and request new ones if they look dirty or old, we all are entitked to.

No matter what the medical profession does wrong there is no way the patient can sue for a hospital aquired infections.   So ignoring the cleanliness of the area is no problem for the staff as there are no repurcussions for them.  A radiologist is not available, all techs do the MRI's and the radiologist reads it at his/her leisure.   So they're clueless what goes on in the testing rooms and they probably don't really care. :(

A sad state of affairs and the human patient is stuck with all of it.  Oprah had a show today, late April.  She didn't hear the term MRSA until the day before?  It's in the news all the time.

Wishing all of you the best of health!

-A Nameless MRSA surgical survior (so far) of 9 1/2  years but it's far from gone, draining often.  Surgically aquired along with 6 other bacterias including MRSA, regular staph, regular strep, pseduomonis, klepsiella and two others I don't recall.  It was a filthy OR with filthy instruments.  After 9 opinions including the Mayo clinic, there is no way get rid of this. I could get worse than the one a month draining or die tomorrow.  No way of knowing as it's still active in at least the abdomen. -
