I've always been told to stretch BEFORE working out - not after. But recently I had an injury (broke my ankle) and so now I'm super cautious. After doing the treadmill I was really sore around my ankle the next day, so I decided to try stretching out right after I got off the machine -- now it doesn't hurt at all!
