There's not much you can do.... The masks you see people wearing don't really do much against smoke in the air. They kept saying last week to stay home and turn on the air conditioning, but that didn't help me! I don't have a/c - I normally don't need it. Last Wednesday was the worst. The smoke hung over the LA basin and it was over 90 degrees. My lungs were burning slightly and my throat was sore by the end of the day. Today is the first day I feel I've breathed any "healthy" air but part of that is because I was down in Rancho Palos Verdes *right* by the water.
