Sore throats and stomach aches

Posted Apr 11 2011 5:32pm

I have found myself in a bit of writers block lately.  Not really being able to come up with topics I find interesting to write about.  There is so much out there and berating drugs gets tiresome.  Today I felt like we should discuss the role of adjusting the 5th thoracic vertebrae.

The 5th thoracic vertebrae can be found here!

There are 12 bones that make up the thoracic spine, so just count down five and that is what bone I am discussing.  Well, it is actually the nerve that I am discussing.  The nerves the originate from the 5th thoracic segment go to many different structures.  The nerves from the right side go to the stomach and the left side go to the throat.

This is why you will often times have acid reflux, heartburn, or a tummy ache while the middle of your back hurts.  You back might feel like it needs to “pop”.  These signs and symptoms are basically your spine calling out for an adjustment.

The signs and symptoms are sore throat, scratchy, coughing sometimes.  This can all be attributed to the 5th thoracic nerve.  Ever had a one sided sore throat?   This is the 5th thoracic nerve getting irritated.

None of these signs are drug deficiencies, but rather your spine is telling you it is time to get adjusted.
