Some concerns about torn ligament(s)

Posted by MineFieldExplorer

Hello everyone,

I'll get down to the point. I tore one or more ligaments in my ankle/foot area almost 6 weeks ago. (I don't even know how many because the doctors don't tell me.) In all, I have visited 2 specialists 3 times, and 2 doctors 4 times (a total of 7 visits!!) and every time the doctor sends me to the specialist and the specialist sends me home. But the last time I went to the specialist he said it wasn't normal that my foot was swollen, red, painful to the touch, and shiny with dots. He told me that maybe I had the "something or another" that is a blood circulation problem that usualy happens after trauma. He put me on this treament that happens to be shots that make you wanna throw up all day and night. Not only is that miserable, but my foot hurts like h--... hooligans. My foot is a normal color now but only when it is elevated. As soon as it is down, it turns blue again. I have to have an MRI soon. I live in France and what the doctor says is nearly uncomprehensible, so maybe someone can explain this to me in English? So what's happening in my foot? Will I ever get it back to normal again? Just tell me.... will I get it hacked off? I'd rather know ahead of time if it's some uncurable freak-thing. After what I heard from the specialist, the torn ligaments are no longer a concern.... it's the circulation issue that is now present. What would you guys say?

thanks a bunch, and just hearing other "voices" will encourage me, I think.
