Last night it came across the television screen as I was watching a rerun of According to Jim. It was the advertisement for my buddy, Jimmy the Lawyer.
This time it was for a class-action lawsuit against Chantix.
Have you ever taken Chantix?
Did you have weird thoughts?
Forget about the health benefits of no longer being a smoker.
You can be rich beyond your wildest expectations if you join us.
We're suing the manufacturer of Chantix because a few people had bad dreams.
Join us so we can drive up the costs of health care for the rest of America because we're greedy, scum-sucking, bottom-feeding lawyers who have nothing better to do than file suit against every company that might turn a profit this year.
Call 1-800 SCUM-BAG and make us rich beyond our wildest fantasies.
I went to their web-site and they have 51 different class action suits against drug manufacturers. Ever wonder why drug prices are so high? It's idiot law firms like this that sue every manufacturer for known side-effects.
A couple gems from their site:
Seroquel- Antipsychotic drug linked to potentially dangerous side effects
Tamiflu-Bird flu vaccine linked to potentially dangerous side effects
Ortho-Evra-Birth control patch linked to blood clots
Mirapex-Parkinson's disease drug linked to obsessive gambling
They've already got a suit going against the manufacturer's of infant cold medications. What ever happened to personal responsibility? If mom goes to the store and buys a product that says Do not use and children under the age of two, takes it home, pours out her best guess as to a dose, and gives it to her three-month old.... it's totally the manufacturer's fault. Especially when she gives the kid a dose of a store label product 4 hours later. Yep. It's the drug company's fault, not mom's.
I'm just waiting until some law firm decides to file suit against Pepsi-Cola on behalf of anybody who has ever had any type of cancer. I mean, I'm pretty sure that a lot of people who have ever had cancer have drank a Pepsi at least once. With the way the American court system works all you have to do is make a claim, not actually prove anything.
