Make sure to allow for cooling down after your workout, especially an aerobic one. Do slow walking, cycling, or other easy activity for 5-10 minutes or until your breathing returns baseline. Never stand still or lie down when your breathing is still heavy and your heart rate elevated. Make sure to cool down completely before getting in a hot tub or sauna, as well.
