Having been away from home for the last year, I missed my library. One of the cool things about returning home is “rediscovering” all the old books you have not seen in a long time. I wanted to point out a few of these gems, here:

Special Operations Forces Medical Handbook

While I have an e-book version and read it often, I was very happy to put this by the bedside and read a bit out of it each night before I went to sleep.

Medicine for Mountaineering

Another great book available on e-book but still very nice to flip through the pages as I reviewed the altitude illness section

Expedition and Wilderness Medicine

One of the premiere references for expedition and remote medicine. Hardbound, beautiful pictures and sadly, no e-book version. This book is one of my favorites and written y some really amazing authors.

Fundamentals of Search and Rescue

The National Association of Search and Rescue “FUNSAR” textbook and probably the best text on civilian SAR. Sadly, no e-book version.
