Radiation therapy is a most preferred treatment for the cancer patients. It is considered as the most beneficial process for the cancer. Almost 50 % of cancer patients undergo radiation therapy during the treatment of the disease. However, Therapy is not totally harmless. Radiation therapist and patients should take extreme care so that to avoid the unnecessary exposure to the radiation.

Radiation therapy and diarrhea may come in form of treatment and side effect. The most common symptoms are feeling of urgent bowel, watery stools or diarrhea, cramps or swelling up of abdomen, or even discharge of blood in the stools.

It is advisable to take the prescribed medicines even after the treatment is over. It is better to avoid dietary fibers. You can return to your normal diet when your bowel function is back to normal state. It is advisable to keep a low diet that includes peeled, canned fruits and well -cooked vegetables.
