Peripheral Neuropathy

Question:
Dear Dr. Ben,

What is the dosage for peripheral neuropathy of L-glutamine?

Joy

Answer:
Hi Joy,

The dosage of L-glutamine for peripheral neuropathy depends on the patient. There are many variables.

There are many causes of peripheral neuropathy - medications
- diabetes
- nutrient deficiencies
- musculoskeletal issues

To address your question directly Consider taking 10 grams of L-glutamine three times a day for 4 days. This is what research shows for drug-induced neuropathy.

After the 4 days, reduce the dosage of L-glutamine. Ask your physician what dose they recommend.

We offer powdered l-glutamine by Pure Encapsulations which makes it easy to take larger doses.

L-glutamine has a mild taste so mixing 10 grams in water is easy to drink down. You may add honey or juice to flavor if you desire.

Other nutrients to highly consider for Peripheral neuropathy are - alpha lipoic acid
- fish oil
- vitamin B12 and folic acid
- L-carnitine

Keep me posted how you are doing with the L-glutamine by Pure Encapsulations and other nutrients.

If you follow some of the suggestions above, you may find significant benefit.

Should you have further questions, do let me know.

In health,
Dr Ben
