Numbness and tingling in my fingers and hand.

I have numbness and tingling and a persistent itching feeling in my 4th and 5th fingers and palm of my left hand. This has been going on for about 3 weeks now. I do have hypertension and type 2 diabetes. My diabetes as far as I know has been under control. I do take meds for both conditions. Also I have not had any type of injury to the hand, when it first started it was just a persistent itch in the 4th finger. No matter what I done it itched deep down into the bone, but there is nothing visible on the finger. After about a week my pinky finger went numb and has now affected both fingers. They tingle but also remain numb. They do not really hurt, just feel swollen and numb. What could be the cause of this?
