This is a release from a new Vasculitis Foundation chapter out of Raleigh, North Carolina.
” We are the North Carolina/Raleigh Vasculitis Support Group and we have participants from across North Carolina as well as parts of Southern Virginia.
We are a community of vasculitis patients, family members and friends who have joined together to share experience, information and support in our journey with vasculitis. Our group includes vasculitis patients ranging from 30 plus year veterans to the newly diagnosed and representing many different types of vasculitis.
Our Chapter formed in 1995 from the initiative of vasculitis patients and doctors at Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. We enjoy a close working relationship with the UNC Kidney Center. There is more information available at our website at
The NC/Raleigh Vasculitis Support Group normally meets twice a year
–in the fall and in the spring. Meetings include updates and discussion on vasculitis health care topics and study updates as well as time for one-on-one and small group conversations. We meet at Duke University’s John Hope Franklin Center in Durham, North Carolina.– the North Carolina Fun Ride for the Vasculitis Foundation. More information about the NC Fun Ride is at
We normally schedule the meeting date around the availability of the speaker. This has greatly increased our ability to get speakers.
The Chapter Leader maintains an email list that is used to send information out about upcoming meetings/events, studies and other items of interest for vasculitis patients locally or from the Vasculitis Foundation. Contact the Chapter Leader if you wish to be on the email list.
Along with other activities, the group supports a fundraiser each year
