In the United Arab Emerites (UAB), nearly 1.6 million people suffer from diabetes which is approximately one fifth of the adult population. Of these, 26% have painful neuropathy symptoms that have been shown to cause physical disabilities, sleep disturbances, insomnia and mood disturbances, and ultimately damaging quality of life through anxiety and depression. With this information, it would be beneficial for these individuals to get help from a physician or specialist that could alleviate and possible resolve the pain. However, due to social constraints, most of these patients fail to get help with this possibly debilitating pain. It has been shown to cost the country millions of dollars because of lost work.
