This last month I have been experimenting with Myofascial Release. It is a type of bodywork that is used to release tension in the body's fascia. I found a therapist who is very well-versed in it, and also additional types of bodywork like Structural Integration.
I had a session about a month ago, and I thought it went very well. I waited to see if the changes would stick, and it appears that they had. Today was my second session, and it was fantastic. We managed to connect the dots between my gait and the back pain I was having.
I feel that this work is even more effective than the Feldenkrias sessions I had. Part of it has to do with the teacher - a technique is only as good as the person teaching it. This teacher quality variable can probably explain why many people get mixed results with bodywork.
