My finger has suddenly swelled with the finger getting very red. There is no pain nor have I injured it. Any ideas?

My finger has suddenly swelled with the finger getting very red on the upper side, with normal coloration on the underside. There is no pain nor have I injured it. It is slightly cooler than my other fingers. Any ideas?
