Hi there everyone and thanks for coming back again to the blog!
If you missed the first part of this series, you can just click on the link below…
Okay, so here we are at part two of this series, and I do have a name for this approach to using social media which I share with you all below…
or VAA for short and part two of my agenda involves what some of you may or may not like, but I already am aware that a vast amount of folks are already a part of…and that is the largest social networking site online today…
Okay, so as I said above Facebook is ” the Social Networking ” site online today…but to back the above statement up….here are a few interesting statistics…
People on Facebook-
Activity on Facebook
Global Reach
Okay, I left out two set of stats as far as ” Mobile Use ” and ” Platform ” which mentions things as far as it’s use by entrepreneurs and some of the available apps that total more than 550,000
These are just “ ” that as a group of people on a mission just cannot ignore.
Okay, so I know that lots of people are on facebook strictly for what it was meant to be used for in the first place and that is to talk with friends…your friends, my friends, their friends…and I’m also aware of some of the pitfalls of using facebook…
I saw someone post something the other day about not liking facebook because of such applications as ” Farmville ” and that ilk of game that this person may not know about or understand, and there was also mention of a ( I think this is what I read in one of the forums ) that there was a ” Porn Link ” that had been attached to an email message that was sent to a group online through one of the support groups established on facebook.
Let me just come right out and say that this is not something new…this does happen sometimes even when you download files that are relatively safe from a ” Trusted Site ” and it is one of the hazards of using the internet…but this is also why there is ” Spyware ” and ” Anti Virus ” programs that usually are able to handle these types of problems.
So how exactly do I think I want to use facebook to help us spread awareness outside of the already established groups that already reside there…well here is where I may lose some of you, but I ask you all to have an open mind…
By using facebook as a ” Marketing Tool ” for vasculitis and let me just explain my thought process here.
When I first started this blog, I was a bit apprehensive…and the reason being three fold…
So, let me say to anyone who may be contemplating writing a blog about their condition that it’s a ton of work, and it takes a good amount of your personal time…and then after you’ve spent your time developing your blog…you have to wait for results which in this case are
I have been writing diligently for more than a year now and I’m finally starting to see some real results on this blog…but in order to start to see these results I had to start to actually market this blog.
Okay, enough about this blog and let’s get back to facebook and using it for the purposes of marketing. I’ve looked at all of the ” Facebook Groups ” that I belong to that have something to do with vasculitis which total six groups…and what I have noticed is that not one of these groups has a ” Facebook Fanpage. “
And just what is a Facebook Fanpage anyway?
The facebook fanpage is the way to network with other sources in order to get your message across to perspective consumers.
I have a fanpage, which I really do not use enough as far as marketing of my blog is concerned but I will be changing this over the next few weeks…but in the meantime the first steps for using this aspect of my agenda is just by those in the community to just ” Favorite ” my fanpage to help make it more popular and to help drive the traffic to this blog.
In the third part of this series I will talk about Video, and what I want to use it for and in the fourth and last part of this series I’ll explain how all of these parts will tie together to make this agenda work…
But I again want to stress that in order for this to work…I need anyone and everyone in our community brave enough to step out of the traditional box of just communicating within our own little support groups, and actually step into the digital world of the net…where all things are possible through networking and collaboration.
