my AH-HA! Moment of the day

Posted Oct 23 2008 1:38pm
While sitting in psych class today learning about conditioning I had an "ah-ha!" moment. What if instead of medicating our violent patients we condition them. We teach them that behaving violently in the back of the ambulance is unacceptable behavior. I say the application of a shock collar for such a purpose would be very effective. Want to spit and swing and kick at me? ZZZAAAPP Bad patient! What's that? Want to remove seatbelts and jump from moving ambulance? ZZZZAAPP Bad Bad Patient! How long do you think it would take for word to get out and people would start to behave?

If you've never had a 300lbs cracked out man want to kill you in the back of the truck you may think this is a bad idea. I think maybe instead of getting them high on drugs to subdue them, this may make them not want to act up any more.

Just saying.
