Moderate Alcohol Intake May Improve Bone Density

In a recent study evaluating alcohol intake and bone mineral density, researchers found that moderate alcohol intake in older men and postmenopausal women is associated with greater bone mineral density. The study data was obtained from the Framingham Study and included 1182 men, 1289 postmenopausal women and 248 premenopausal women. Bone mineral density measurements were taken at the hip and spine.
