Manuka Honey & Oral Pain Relief

Manuka Honey & Oral Pain Relief

Hello Dr.Ben,

I just recently had laser surgery to remove a leukoplakia area on the lateral side of my tongue extending down to the floor of the mouth. it is very red and painful, and my dr. has recommended hydrogen/water rinses 2xdaily. i have been researching ys organic bee company, a company that you offer, and am considering applying the manuka honey 15 strength that they offer applied on a dressing within the mouth for healing and pain relief. any opinions?  Also, is the ys organic bee farms manukah honey reliable as a good manuka honey?

Answer:

Hi Jay - I think the application of Manuka Honey may be very healing to the tissue. I would also follow the advice of your physician regarding the mouth rinse. Consider taking Arnica 30C or 30X when you experience pain. Take a few pellets and let them dissolve under your tongue. Repeat each time you experience pain.

Arnica is typically recommended for post-surgical pain relief. If your leukoplakia returns, do let me know. There are some potent nutritional support which may help treat leukoplakias. Deep, focused and centered breathing (belly breathing) helps reduce pain as well. Do anytime you experience pain. Should you have further questions, please do ask. Do let me know how you are doing in a month.

The YS Organic Bee Farms are a reliable source overall.

The Manuka Honey we offer is harvested from the pristine wilderness of South Island, New Zealand.

I have backpacked/hiked extensively in the South Island region and I can vouch that this area is quite untouched.

There are also many companies which falsify or grade their Manuka honey higher than it is.

I personally use this Manuka honey for my family.

In health,

Dr.Ben
