LifeBridge Health Community Events for the Month of March

LifeBridge Health offers a variety of wellness education classes, lectures and screenings every week. These community events range from breastfeeding support groups to stress reduction and relaxation classes. They are all part of LifeBridge Health’s commitment to making sure that the local community is leading a healthy lifestyle.

3/4/13 - Sinai Bariatrics Information Session – Interested in losing weight? Join us for a free information seminar to learn if bariatric (weight loss) surgery is right for you. Hosted by Christina Li, M.D. , FACS, Division Head of Minimally Invasive Surgery at Sinai Hospital and Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgeon or by Cynthia Long, M.D. , FACS, Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgeon. These sessions are for new patients in the Baltimore area.
3/6/13 - Birth Basics 101 – Labor, Birth & Postpartum - Refresher course for those who have already given birth. Usually held the first Wednesday of every other month, this class covers the stages of labor, the birth process, care for the new mom and adjustments at home.
3/7/13 - Prepared Childbirth Evening Series - This 3-part class is held monthly at Sinai Hospital. (Please confirm dates when registering). Detailed information is provided regarding the phases of labor and the birth process. Taught by a certified childbirth instructor. Take this series in your seventh month. Bring 2 pillows to class.
3/10/13 - Prepared Childbirth – Sunday Class - Usually held on the second Sunday of the month; includes continental breakfast and lunch. Detailed information is provided regarding the phases of labor and the birth process. Taught by a certified childbirth instructor. Take this class in your seventh month. Bring 2 pillows to class. Pre-registration is required.
3/13/13 - Heart Health & Lifestyle Screening – Cockeysville - The screening includes blood pressure, cholesterol/triglycerides, comprehensive metabolic panel blood profile, body composition analysis, a heart health awareness assessment and a brief counseling session with a registered nurse. $20 fee.
3/19/13 – Infant/Child CPR for Family and Friends - Test – Held every other month. Call for dates. Teaches the life saving skills of infant/child CPR and relief of choking. Participation card only. Pre-registration is required two weeks prior to class. (Priority is given to Sinai couples.)
3/28/13 - Look Good, Feel Better – Sinai - This free program is for women currently undergoing or who are scheduled to undergo chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy. It helps women feel better about their appearance with emphasis on learning makeup techniques and hair/wig styling. A trained cosmetologist leads the group.
