Grammy-winning country singer LeAnn Rimes checked into an unidentified treatment center late last month to seek treatment for anxiety and stress, the People magazine reports.
In an exclusive statement to People, Rimes’ publicist Marcel Pariseau, said: “LeAnn has voluntarily entered a 30-day in-patient treatment facility to cope with anxiety and stress. While there will be speculation regarding her treatment, she is simply there to learn and develop coping mechanisms.”
Pariseau made it clear that the singer was seeking treatment for anxiety and stress, and not help for an eating disorder or substance abuse .
Rimes entered the facility the day after her 30th birthday. She told the celebrity magazine that the initiative to enter the facility was “just a time for me to emotionally check out for a second and take care of myself and come back in 30 days as the best 30-year-old woman I can be.”
“All the things in my life will be there when I get out, but you know what? I’m hoping they’re not going to affect me as much,” Rimes said. “I’ll have the tools to know how to deal with them.”
Rimes’ husband, “CSI: Miami” actor Eddie Cibrian, said his wife had his full support and praised her courage for finding the “strength to finally take some time for herself.”
