There are titanium implants. I don't know of nickel implants failures, but I can recommend Dr. Dearborn, who performs up to 10 surgeries a day, and surely has had all the experience, one would want in a surgeon. www.johntdearbornmd.com. He is in Fremont's Washington Hospital, but has a consulting office in Palo Alto. You can e-mail: shonta@johntdearbornmd.com.
I hope this helps. Good luck!

How frequent are total knee replacement failures due to metal sensitivity (nickel) and how effective are custome made implants, how do you find a doctor who specializes in metallurgy and total knee implants?
