Over the past month, I have had jaw tightness, clicking on one side, and minor pain when I manipulate the joint (to massage). I often have neck pain when I wake up. I attributed both of these to stress. I had a significant event occur recently. The jaw discomfort comes and goes, but is daily. It is most significantly present in the morning and afternoon. I don't feel it when I am doing activities that take my mind off it. The neck pain is gone by mid morning. About a week ago, I noticed a lump in my cheek just forward of the joint below the teeth on the lower jaw. It is soft and does not hurt. It almost seems to be a swollen version of what I have on the other side of my mouth. Could this be related to the jaw discomfort? I also just finished a major cold a couple of days ago. I have a doctor's appointment scheduled, but I am extremely concerned. Should I be?
