It’s World Kidney Day!

Posted Mar 11 2010 7:55am

World Kidney Day is celebrated annually to help call attention to the importance of kidney disease prevention.

If you’re not familiar with kidney disease, I’d encourage you to hop over here to learn more. High blood pressure is one of the leading causes 0f chronic kidney disease. The good news is that kidney disease is very preventable if proper steps are taken to do a simple screening.

If you’re around Chicago, the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois is hosting comprehensive free screenings today in Oak Forest (details here ). The American Kidney Fund is also hosting free screenings this Saturday in downtown Chicago (details here ).

Check out these two videos below as well and help spread the word!
