If You Want A Baby Boy Try High Calorie Diets

Posted Nov 21 2008 4:32pm

While there have been many studies into animals to determine if what they eat and when they eat it can influence the sex of their off-spring, a new report today seems to indicate that you are more likely to have a baby boy if you are on a High Calorie Diet at the time of conception. While the results are not conclusive they do offer an interesting insight into the body.

The report also indicates that if you take a regular breakfast you will again increase your chances of having a baby boy. While there will be many people who suggest that the study is flawed and 740 first time pregnant ladies is not really representative of the nation, the results do back up some earlier thoughts from the medical world.

Over the last 40 years we have seen a decrease in the number of baby boys per thousand births, with the fall averaging about one in every thousand per year. While this may not seem like an awful lot and there appears to be no apparent reason, it seems to correspond with the growing trend of “skipping breakfast” which is common for many people in society today. As the trend for baby boy births falls there is an obvious increase in the birth of baby girls and if this continues for the next 100 years it will cause problems with the balance of society.

On the surface you might be excused for thinking that this report has no backing, but the same trends have also been detected in animals, where food and social standing seem to play a very large part in the sex of an off-spring. So the next time someone says you are what you eat, that may be an awful lot truer than they might think!
