i was put to sleep yesterday for surgery, after waking up i have mucus stuck on my uvula. it hurts help

i had outpatient surgery on yesterday morning and i knew that after waking up my throat would be soar, but i have mucus that has attatched itself to my uvula.  i cant' get in touch with my doctor, and this is aggriviating.  If i eat anything with any flavor, it burns.  somebody tell me something.  i've gargled  with peroxide and mouthwash, and hot water.  i don't know what else to do
