I was in a car accident 6 weeks ago and injured my left shoulder and clavicle. Nothing was broken and MRI was clear.

My chiropractor has begun massage therapy and immediately after a session of deep work on my neck (front left), I experienced swelling in the "hollow" of my throat.  This gives me a choking sensation which is scary at times.  When it swells, I put ice on it and take anti-inflamatory medication, but it always returns.  This has been going on for 2 weeks now!  The swelling makes me cough and choke.  When I pull the skin on my chest outwards towards my shoulder, a small lump pops out of the "hollow" and the sensation in my throat stops.  What is this that is swelling? and what can I do to make it stop forever?
