I recieved a sliver from an Ombu tree and several days later became sick with ongoing stomach cramps, can these be related?

I know that the Ombu sap is poisonous, and the area of my sliver became immediately inflamed as the sliver went deep into my skin. Less than a day after I finally removed it (Monday) I became very ill to the point where I could not move or open my eyes/ While I am feeling slowly better the tiredness and the stomach pains still persist. I am only concerned because I have never had stomach pains such as these with any other illness or type of flu.
