Please excuse the terrible pictures. I admit that since I got my iPhone, I haven't taken one photo with my digital SLR. I know...totally lame, but it's been so nice not to tote around the heavy camera. I'm joining a photo club next week, so hopefully I'll be able to advance above the total beginner category and give you some photos worth looking at.
And yes, these are cheesy anniversary date photos, but really, 7 years...it's starting to add up a bit. Something to celebrate. Especially since we also are newlyweds . But it was such a lovely evening with new friends, a 5-course Italian dinner, the wine bestowed on us by friends 7 years ago, and the soothing sounds of Masura Imada and his band at the BarBarBar jazz club.
The wine we drank--la poderina brunello di montalcino--was excellent and it comes from such a delightful wedding gift! A group of dear friends--northern California wine snobs and a few winos thrown in--gave us a box of 5 individually-wrapped wines to be drunk at particular anniversaries. They have all been perfect so far. Just opening the wine and feeling the love in the choosing is cause for celebration. Funny, I read some reviews of the brunello we drank and they were mixed...some great bottles, some corked, some that were decanted too long. We must have done the absolute right thing by moving 4 times and then bringing the bottle over to Japan in a suitcase...it was in its prime.
