I'm an adult who was diagnosed with hand, foot and mouth disease yesterday. I just don't think the doctor was right.

Any small cut that already existed in my mouth swelled up by a factor of five. My lips are three times their normal size. Everywhere in my mouth hurts, brushing my teeth is one of the most painful things I've ever done. It's like pouring lemon juice into a third degree burn. My pinkie had a cut where a cuticule used to be and it swelled up too. So maybe it is HFAMD, but I don't have any blisters or rashes. Just the swelling and horrible pain. I was also diagnosed with strep (tested positive) but that's clearing up after taking my antibiotic. So it's hard to say whether the sore throat and fever I've been having for the past five days is from the strep or the Coxsackie. Is this HFAMD? Or is it something else? Like an autoimmune problem?
